This wine comes from the largest area of the four “Superiore” wines in Valtellina, i.e. from the Teglio terracings. It is characterized by a ruby-red colour, a strawberry/raspberry bouquet and a dry, harmonious slightly tannic flavour. It is excellent for ageing and has to be refined in casks for at least three years. It is good with all types of meat, poultry and hard cheese and is excellent with “pizzoccheri”, a traditional dish of this region.
