A light and fresh, with flavors of tart raspberry, juicy cherry, and cranberry relish with a touch of blood orange. Chill this down a few degrees and enjoy with cured meat.
The Franks produce wine in a downtown Portland basement. Scott is an importer/wholesaler married to Dana, a sommelier. Together they boldly swim along a wave of young American vintners setting up shop in urban areas (common in the Loire Valley). They're creating vibrant expressions of atypical grape varieties in very small amounts, just over 2500 cases in total production. "Rhinestones" is their interpretation of a traditional Burgundian style, Passetoutgrains, where Pinot Noir and Gamay are co-fermented.
