Vermentino di Gallura Gemellae, Sardinia Italy £14

On the nose, golden apple and melon aromas, a steely backnote and scents of toasted pine nuts and basil. In the mouth it is rich and dry, with a minerally depth with flavours of sweet almond, dried herbs and apple.

Pago de Tharsys Bobal, Valencia Spain £10

Intense, clean nose. Hints of ripe cherries and red berries, with a slight touch of toffee and vanilla. Initially balanced and fruity. A wonderful structure, with gentle, well-blended tannins.

La Petite Syrah Domaine Mas Montel Granier, Rhone France £12

La Petite Syrah is marvellously consistent with sift ripe fruit flavours, showing some stewed fruits with cinnanmon and nutmeg. Garnet in colour with earthy aromas, notes of red fruits, spice, leather and liquorice. Balanced and very elegant.

Thirst Cinsault Radford Dale Wines, South Africa £14

Vivid colour. Fresh, juicy and bright with lovely mineral, stony notes under the joyful, thirst-quenching fresh cherry and plum fruit. There’s a bit of grip here too. Just so fresh and tasty. Bout D’Zan Mas de Libian, Ardeche France £16
