The Cuvée des Drilles, mainly juicy Duras (75%) with some Fer, with its bright peppery notes, hints of Seville orange, bitter cherry and appealing suppleness in the mouth is, as our cheeky négociant puts it, "the sort of red that we need to drink for medicinal quenching purposes".
Domaine d’Escausses is located halfway between Albi and the medieval village of Cordes in Gaillac. The climate is a balance of oceanic with Mediterranean influences. There are 26 hectares under vines for AOC production. The soil is a mixture of marne and sedimentary limestone and the vineyards are treated with organic and mineral-based manures.
