The initial fruity aroma, with fragrance of green apples, changes over time as the wine matures into a more complex and slightly spicy smell. A dry crisp mineral white from Piedmont, vinified from the grapes which gave to Gavi wines its popularity.

Located in Tassorolo in Piedmont, Bergaglio's vineyard comprises of just 5 hectares growing only one grape, Cortese, the native grape variety of Allessandria, which thrives in the hills between Novi and Tortona in Piedmont close to Liguria. The grape is so successful in Gavi that it is known locally as Cortese di Gavi.
